The idea of this nursery was to make a Colonial Royal Circus tent. The ceiling of the room is made entirely out of plaster of paris and stripes are painted over it. The ceiling is shaped in such a way it looks like circus tents. This laborious task took full 3 weeks to finish. The crib and changing table have carvings to continue the colonial theme. The bed is very contemporary and the sofa is an eclectic mix of the old and new.
The frames and mouldings above the bed add the aesthetic tribe to this post colonial pre modern room. The mural above the bed took its elements from the wallpaper. The wallpaper is the most striking feature of the room, it was sourced from Spain (little hands illustrations) and it is what makes it a baby room nursery. The lights were all sourced (internationally and domestically) and work beautifully in brining the room together.
